Caleb's Birthday

Our wonderful Caleb turned 7!
It's hard to believe that this sweet little toddler...

...has become this strong and capable boy.

We sure are thankful for him.

We began our birthday festivities with Breakfast.  Caleb begged me to let him have brownies for breakfast on his birthday and I, well.. I gave in.

Next to those brownies are some eggs; that kinda makes breakfast not a complete loss right.

First thing, we had to open a few gifts.
A Cardinals t-shirt, 49er bands and gummy worms from Hannah.

Those crazy worms pretty much made his day.

Caleb requested we eat at Pizza Hut

and watch 101 Dalmatians.

Then, we had a Milky Way cake (Caleb's innovation) and homemade chocolate ice cream.

A few games before bed.

To top things off, that night the tooth fairy came to deliver on a tooth that was pulled!

All the birthday celebrating wasn't quite over though.
A few days later, we surprised Caleb with a party!  We did the same thing for Hannah when she turned 7.  We just had a few friends over and kept it simple but boy we sure got him.  He was totally surprised.

Checking out new baseball cards.

Scavenger Hunt

Wrestling.

Laser Maze.

Paper Airplanes

The party outline went kinda like this.

Pizza (again - it IS his favorite afterall).

Wrestling.

Lots of fun games.

Wrestling.

More fun games.

Wrestling.

Cupcakes.

Wrestling.

Bloody nose.
(that is blood you see there)

No more wrestling.

Happy Birthday Caleb!  We sure do love you!

Food in Kansas City

BY HANNAH:

Our family went to Kansas city.  We ate at 3 restaurants, T-Rex, Oklahoma Joe's,  And Fritz’s.

Have you ever been to the Jurassic time period?  Well, at the “T-Rex” restaurant that is exactly what happens.

The restaurant is in the middle of a shopping center.

There are at least 3 or 4 models of dinosaur bones surrounded with water at the entrance.

When you go through the front doors, it looks like you just went back in time, a giant T-Rex is waiting for you.  At her feet are baby T-Rexes that just hatched.  Steam is all around them.

As you look around, there is a woolly Mammoth and her babies in the ice-age room, a room that looks like a Jungle with giant grasshoppers, a room with giant lady bugs that pop out of nowhere, a room with a water fall, a room with lava, a room that looks like the middle of the ocean with fish swimming around, booths that look like shells and tables that look like fossils, and rooms that have dinosaurs that come decimeters from you.

The kitchen has glass around it so you can see the chickens cooking and rotating above the fire.  They have a meteor shower that goes every thirty minutes, jelly fish lights, and a table that has a giant jelly fish over the top.

It is one of the coolest restaurants ever.  It seemed so real!  I felt like I really went back in time!

The reason we went to Oklahoma Joe's was that we heard that Kansas City had some of the best BBQ in America, and Oklahoma Joe's was the best there.  So…..... we decided to try it.  We waited in line 30 min. to order.  I got ribs. They were good but Papa’s are way better.

Fritz’s was a restaurant where we ordered our food on a phone and an overhead train, a foot long carrying a tiny basket, brought it to us.  Cool right?  I think so.

Eating in Kansas City was fun.  I had a great time.  I hope we go back soon!
